You know, I’m usually the one telling others that they are over-reacting, that the end of the world is not coming, the Saint’s ain’t gonna win the Superbowl, Hell isn’t freezing over, the Earth isn’t going to warm up so much that it explodes, and dammit, just because Miley Cyrus is acting like a typical 15-year old, and taking sexy childish poses of herself in a shower (with more to come for a price $$: I hope that bastard gets locked up for child porn…), she’s NOT a slut. I mean come on, people, give the girl a break. Who here doesn’t have embarrassing photos or videos floating around somewhere? Who here hasn’t done something they’re ashamed of, only to have it come back and haunt them later? Who here doesn’t have an ex that has dirt on you?…Well, you don’t count…Besides, her phone was hacked, according to the hacker (and assuming the photos aren’t fake). That should be considered theft of private property. Leave the poor girl alone…

Oh, yea, back to the topic at hand…I’m not the one to over-react and buy into the doomsday scenarios. But the more I read about the state of Western Civilization, the more it scares the living sh*t out of me. I’ve been reading, at a very slow pace, Mark Steyn’s book, America Alone. I mean, there’s no need to rush through the book, he says we have a few decades until the end of Western Civilization as we know it is here…these things don’t happen overnight, you know? To get an idea of what the book is about, check out the infamous excerpt that Steyn fixed up into an article for the Canadian Magazine Macleans (the equivalent of our Times magazine), titled, The Future Belongs to Islam. This very same article is going through litigation because it was considered to be hate speech by a certain group of people (see FreeMarkSteyn.com and my posts about it for more information – e.g., here, here, and here, for examples).

Now that’s the context. Here’s the article that I read this morning that really gets you thinking. I never knew who Howard Zinn was, but now I know. He’s an idiot. An intellectual idiot, but still an idiot. Yes, since I disagree with him, that makes him wrong, and therefore an idiot. Don’t try to tell me that I’m not always right. It’s been established on more than one occassion, that I am, indeed, 99.9% of the time, correct in my opinions. Sometimes my facts can be a bit shaky or exaggerated, in which case I correct them as soon as I learn that they are…not completely accurate. Anyway, back to Zinn. This guy from the Brussels Journal, a conservative blog, visited the northwestern US. Now, that was his first mistake. Sure, there’s a lot of beautifil scenery there, from what I hear, but when you go there, you have to put up with the idiots. So he named the area, “Zinnlandia.”

Here’s an excerpt (after the fold):

Zinnlandia is in Amerikka – that racist, capitalist land of injustice, sexism, specieism, lookism, theism, militarism and homophobia. As a material and cultural Marxist, and skillful propagandist, Zinn – a master of sieving American history for its worst nuggets – is the perfect avatar for the self-flagellating white inhabitant of this land.

Oh, what a gym of satirical writing. He doesn’t really believe all that, in case you can’t figure it out, but people like this do:

A Zinnlandian I met on this trip, a WASP physician endowed with the best education much money can buy, told me that he does not celebrate July 4th because the Declaration of Independence had been written by a slave owner and signed by other slave owners. He was just as hotly critical of the “racism” of Americans in dealing with the growing Muslim immigrant minority. The conversation unfolded over a bottle of Oregon Vino Pinko, with the likeness of a notorious Cuban mass murderer on the label.

The author goes on to explain how hypocritical the WASPy Zinnlandian was, and then applies psychology:

Behavioral psychology has names for various information perception and analysis biases, but at least fifteen of those would have to be added to encompass the depth and width of the Zinnlandian’s – let’s not beat around the bush – craziness. Take, among others, the Bias Blind Spot, add some Omission Bias and Selective Perception, leaven with white racial guilt propaganda. Whip that into a mixture of Belief Bias, Selective Memory, Bandwagon Effect, Déformation Professionnelle and Disconfirmation Bias. Pour the mixture into a pie shell made of Neglect of Probability, My Side Bias, Optimism Bias and Positive Outcome Bias, and bake for 30 years in an oven designed specifically by mainstream media and the educational system to make that kind of dough rise. Voilà!

Now if you thought Mark Steyn’s article was hate speech, you’re going to flip your shi* at the rest of the article. Here’s a couple of excerpt:

For black and Hispanic crime is not the result of poverty or of racism. One is safe walking among the poor in Thailand, the disfranchised Ainu in Japan, or the downtrodden Jews still living among Moslems. Until the crazies took over Islam again, for the nth time in history, a white person could walk – and this author did walk– through the poorest sections of Arab cities without fearing for one’s life. One may sometimes suffer violence at the hands of unemployable young sociopaths in white-only precincts of Birmingham or Bratislava, but murder and serial rape are not a feature of everyday life there.

…

Among the dozens of anxious comments, one, Cris, states, “The black elephant is in the room. 43% of all violent crime is committed by the Afro-Caribbean population. One part of the answer (not the whole of it) is to deport each an every immigrant caught carrying a knife.”

To which another commenter, Piers, retorts, “Typical racist BNP facism; what about the 57% of non-black people who commit violent crime- will u deport them?”

That’s how the cultural left silences the voices of reason and objectivity: blind frothing at the mouth with words like “fascism” and “racism” spraying out with the spittle. For what matters is not which group commits more crimes but how that crime rate relates to the group’s percentage of the population.

What matters is this: Blacks are 3.5% of the British population. Now, when you perceive that 43% of violent crime in Great Britain is committed by members of a demographic group comprising 3.5% of the population, then you are on to something.

I realize I quoted a lot from his article, but I promise, there’s still a LOT left to read there. Go read it. He present a lot of facts and statistics. Now this is what scares me: either that man is one of the most racist bas*ards alive, or he is has a pair of fuck*ng balls the size of watermelons (wow, that sounded racist). I believe the latter is the case, and as such, I will never go into a public shower with the man, out of fear the rest of him is in proportion. Also, it’s scary, when considering how that article fits in with Steyn’s accusation that Western culture is suffering from a shrinkage of the same organs. As a society, we are more concerned with appeasement, not hurting someone’s feelings, and bowing down to the secular god of multiculturalism at the cost of losing our own identity. We no longer have the intestinal fortitude to look the red devil in the eye, speak truth to reason, and stand our ground in hopes of saving our civilization from collapse under its own weight.

I’ve always felt that it’s the culture of poverty that runs rampant through minority groups which has led to the higher crime rates within certain races and cultures. Maybe I’m becoming more racist in my old age, but something doesn’t add up with that theory. I’m sure there’s truth in it, but I think, as both the writer of the piece, Steyn, and others have pointed out: The primary cause of the social unrest and crime waves that we are seeing coming out of minority groups has as much roots in the loss of Western morals and values and belief in our own way of life as anything else.
