Coming to Seattle, the Obama Youth Parade:

On Sunday, October 12, Washington State kids and families will parade around Seattle’s Green Lake. “Kids for Obama Parade” will illustrate one of Barack Obama’s core beliefs: Everyone’s voice counts. Join us as Obama’s youngest supporters rally their families and call for change, for a better America. At 2 pm, rain or shine, children and teens will express with words and drawings their hopes for the future of America on “wish flags” that will be mailed to Obama. The first 300 kids will be given a helium balloon, an expression of solidarity. At 3 pm, the “Kids for Obama Parade” will skip, toddle, stroller, rollerblade, pedal, and red-wagon clockwise around Green Lake in a cloud of red, white, and blue balloons and a garland of kid-made wish flags. How to prepare? If possible, bring home-made signs and wear red, white, and/or blue clothing. That goes for moms, dads, big brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, grandparents too. Please spread the word.

One of the key differences in American democratic politics and Facism/Nazism/Communism is the worship of the state and leaders that accompanies the latter. In light of that, the Obama worship that we are seeing by the presidential candidates followers and the media is quite disturbing. Let’s take a few examples. First, what’s the difference in a bunch of children singing about how Obama will change the world, and a bunch of children indoctrinated to worship Lenin (videos below the fold)?

Or a Nazi youth rally?

Too militaristic to be a fair comparison? Maybe…

Or maybe not.

Take note: totalitarian societies don’t always resemble the militaristic nations we faced during World War II and the Cold War. Freedom is a fragile thing, and the downfall of civilizations occur most often by disassembling them one piece at a time. Do you really need a list of how your liberty is being restricted? And now, we (or some of us) are turning all our hopes for our nation towards one single individual? This should scare you.
