I came in here and found cobwebs and dust bunnies…and no postings since November 2008. Okay, so I know Republicans have these things called jobs and they sometimes are preoccupied with education, but come on now, can’t they make time to entertain me by blogging???? Ahem…I won’t mention any names, but it starts with a D…..get with the program already man!

Since our gracious host seems to be MIA – even when I randomly text and/or call (that’s just me making him feel guilty, I didn’t really call him…shhhh), I’ve got the urge to blog on his site. He always told me to do so, and I always felt weird about being all up in his space – well, actually, as a Mexican woman I didn’t feel like I deserved the space on his blog site – you know a Mexican California woman and a conservative White Southern man….ooooh sounds like the next hit sitcom.

So my blog today will be about our dear, hopeful, changeful President Obama. I thought I would do a small recap of his progress so far – I mean it’s only fair we chronicle his great crusade to enlighten and free us all of the great oppression we were in under Evil President Bush (insert evil laugh here).

Okay, so let’s recap:

Day One – Inauguration: Yay! First Black President everrrrr….woohooo. PARTYYYYYY!!! I mean it’s not every day you see a black man elected President. Who wasn’t out and partying? Who didn’t host an Inauguration Day party? Who didn’t spend $1,000,000 on this monumental event? You’re just not cool if you’r not down with O. I mean Oprah is doing it, I should too, right?

Day 2 to Present: Wow, Obama sure wasn’t kidding about change. And he’s not all talk, he’s action too – I mean who would have ever thought of nominating a man (Geithner) who owed thousands in back taxes to manage the nation’s finances – BRILLIANT MOVE SIR!!! Yes, the big “O” trusts a man who “forgot” to pay taxes, but is still considered a genius – to manage the United States’ financial future, and who wouldn’t right? Don’t tell me you never thought of hiring Wesley Snipes as your CPA? I know I have.

Then there was the amazing pick of Sen. Daschle for Secretary Health and Human Services. Wow, another pick that owed taxes – probably forgot too. Unfortunately, Sen. Daschle had to reject the offer from O - I mean who wants to be in the spotlight where all your past illegal blunders come to light. But President Obama being the hopeful man that he is, kept hoping that one of his picks would actually be a worthy pick. I love faux-hope.

There’s so many rejected picks going back to before President O was even elected that it’s hard to name them all – there was Gov. Bill Richardson – who politely withdrew as a cabinet pick because, well…because of something called “legal inquiry.” Fancy terms for Democrat did a booboo.

But our leader did not let those little hiccups phase him (insert an image of President O waving his hand in front of his face, and saying ‘YOU CAN’T SEE ME’), he continued with his goal of making the biggest, bestest, grandest Government ever!

And for that he required assistance: step in, Ms. Nancy Pelosi (the Queen of Quasi-Catholocism herself), Barney Frank (ooh just typing his name gives me goosebumps, in a rash-like sort of way), and every other self-aggrandizing Democratic politician in the United States. It takes a lot of people to come up with a TRILLION DOLLAR spending plan.

I mean there’s sooooo much to buy:

* Many toys (can’t criticize the O for buying those fancy helicopters when everyone else is suffering – how else can he spread the hope and change?)

* Hungry potlicians to feed

* irresponsible Americans to reward.

President O and his Dem Dream Team broke a sweat on this one I can assure you – and they sure brought change – change from a thriving nation to a failing miserable one that has to turn to government for every aspect of life. CHANGE – no one said it had to be good change, right? Way to keep your promise Mr. Prez.

In more recent days, the big O has had to change his hope talk and has exchanged it for “DOOM, it’s coming, you better believe it!” and “Let’s spend your money, so your kid’s don’t have to.” All great leaders know that sometimes you have to change your message – and if scaring Americans into supporting the spending plan (aka Democratic wish list), then it’s all good baby!

Ok, that’s my recap. Whewww….it’s been exciting times – not knowing what the future holds, being scared for my daughter’s future – it has my pulse all racy and stuff. Fun times indeed.

And since there’s a chance that some “englightened” folks might drop by this site – it’s sarcasm.

You’ve got to be fu…ok, I’m going to try to bite my tongue on this one because I’m linking to all these nice peoples blogs…

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me! (that’s the only one – promise):

TORONTO — A woman caught up in a mysterious Internet hijacking scandal that has sparked a federal privacy investigation into the Canadian Human Rights Commission says she was shocked, angry and confused at suddenly finding herself publicly associated with white supremacists.

Speaking out for the first time, Nelly Hechme told The Canadian Press she was appalled to learn commission investigators might have hacked her Internet connection to post messages on supremacist websites.

“It’s horrible,” Hechme said. “You never want something like that attached to your name.”

Last month, an investigator with the Human Rights Commission told a hearing into a hate complaint that he made postings on websites under the password-protected pseudonym “Jadewarr.”

In response to a subpoena, Bell Canada linked “Jadewarr” to Hechme’s personal Internet account, and provided her address and telephone number at the public hearing.

…

So far, the commission has not explained why or how its investigators might have commandeered Hechme’s connection or offered any alternative explanation for how Hechme and “Jadewarr” became linked.

Ian Fine, senior general counsel with the rights commission, said he was unable to comment on the specifics of the case in light of ongoing investigations but denied any wrongdoing.

“We are quite confident that, at the end of the day, it will be established that the Canadian Human Rights Commission has done nothing untoward, nothing wrong, in this whole scenario,” Fine said.

Read the full article here. Hat tip to Small Dead Animals.

That’s considered legal and appropriate behavior for a government official? Why didn’t the CHRC investigator simply create their own online persona if they needed to entrap go undercover to prove their “case”? Hell, it’s not that hard to do. (more after jump)

This whole Human Rights crap coming out of Canada is getting more and more ridiculous. Ezra Levant is apparently getting sued again for libel by some super-sensitive nutcase (emphasis mine):

…

I mean, seriously, look at why Vigna says he’s going to sue me. On page three of his threat, he’s underlined what he says makes him really mad at me. He complains that I made fun of his courtroom antics, when he told a tribunal chairman that the whole hearing had to stop because Vigna didn’t “feel in a serene state of mind”. I compared Vigna’s lame series of excuses – a discussion that went on for twenty pages of court transcripts! – to a student who pulled the fire alarm to get out of writing an exam.

You’d think that Vigna would want to forget about that awful, awful day when he turned the tribunal hearing into his own therapy session. But not Vigna – he says he’s going to sue me for calling his drama audition a “farce”.

Alright, readers, skip the next few paragraphs. They’re a private message from me to Vigna, barrister to barrister, and friend to friend.

…

Make sure you read the whole story; it’ll piss you off.

On top of that, apparently the conservative party is passing a law allowing some inspectors to come in and do what the hell they want in the name of an investigation without a warrent. I have no idea why this is something they need to do considering the bill is an amendment to the “Food and Drug Act” (whatever). Hat tip to Five Feet of Fury for these links.

The scariest part about all this is that so many on the Left in the US point to Canada as a model of a “progressive state.” Are these people stupid? I’ve never understood how taking 10 steps forward in terms of the rights of citizens since the Middle Ages and 11 steps back can be considered “progress.” These are the same people who believe communism was a good thing and fly the communist flag while working on Presidential campaigns (hat-tip Conservative Grapevine). They’re the ones asking “what’s so wrong with communism?” and making protests of the Iraq War resemble something you’d more expect to see from a middle school class when their substitute teacher has a breakdown (those were the good ole’ days), and getting high school kids involved.

How long will it take before these people wear down the masses with promises of a utopian society that can only exist through a total brainwashing of the people and constant “social engineering” to reprogram humans to be – dare I say – less than human? The Canadian Human Rights Commissions and all the other Left-wing initiatives to curb “hate” is aimed at doing exactly that. I do not believe that hatred, selfishness, debauchery, infidelity, and any of the other “sins” are inherent in human nature. I believe that human beings have, instead, an inherent ability to rise up above these more animalistic tendencies to be something greater – that defines us as being superior to the animals. However, I don’t believe, as the Left seems to, that a person can be forced to do this. What sets humans apart from the animals is this thing called free-will, which includes the choice to love. Leftists believe we can circumvent this by whitewashing our differences and denying us the Freedom to judge one culture better than another. They believe that by putting up layers of facades between people and denying the “haters” their right to “hate” (aloud) that they can make their utopian society: by quenching the spread of an idea they can erase its memory from the fabric of civilization. This is wrong. Subconsciously, those ideas and emotions get redirected elsewhere and the children eventually pick them up again. The only way to change society is through debate and through confrontation – preferably peacefully. It is only through the exchange of ideas that society grows. Hopefully the trend gets stopped before it’s too late.

More than that, it is a personal growth that comes from facing opposition in life. This whole Canadian HRC rhetoric along with all the Leftist propaganda in the US is rooted in a desire to never have to be offended. Show me someone who brings a complaint to a CHRC and I’ll show you someone who is more insecure in themself than the one who is willing to stand in front of the commission and declare that it is unlawful and a travesty of justice. The fact that both parties in Canada and both parties in the United States are latching on to the belief that big government can make people and life better is an indication that more trouble is coming. Tyranny has a way of rising again and again, and it is only in the strength and convictions of a truly free people that it can ever be defeated.

On a closing note, since this rant is getting too philosophical for its own good, there is an excerpt from Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo that I believe to a good summary of the human existance. More people should take note of it:

…Tell the angel who will watch over your life to pray now and then for a man who, like Satan, believed himself for an instant to be equal to God, but who realized in all humility that supreme power and wisdom are in the hands of God alone.

As for you, Maximilian, here is the secret of my conduct toward you: there is neither happiness nor unhappiness in this world; there is only the comparison of one state with another. Only a man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss. It is necessary to have wished for death, Maximilian, in order to know how good it is to live.

Live, then, and be happy, beloved children of my heart, and never forget that, until the day God deigns to reveal the future to man, the sum of all human wisdom will be contained in these two words: Wait and Hope.
–The Count of Monte Cristo, (abridged) Alexandre Dumas

Hang in there Canadian Bloggers and keep fighting. You’re not alone.

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. First I want to explain what this blog is about, and afterwards, I’ll give a brief explanation to those who are wondering why I decided to start a new blog when I could’ve continued blogging on myspace (as I have been since around October 2007 or so) or on blogger before that.

So what’s this blog all about? I hope that the people I call friends (and even those I don’t) know by now that honesty, trustworthiness, openness, and loyalty are all traits that are very important to me. I look for those traits in the people I surround myself with, but I also strive to live them in my own life. It’s not always easy. To me, being open and honest means more than just never telling a lie, it also means being willing and able to tell someone the truth when they ask for an opinion or when they need to hear it, regardless of how scary it is for me to speak the truth. I’ll save the conversation of friends lost due to one or both of us not being honest with each other (or in some cases not handling the honesty in a pleasant way) for another day, along with the question of “does openness mean telling everyone everything?” The point is, in my personal life, I strive to be open and honest and expect the same from my friends. What that means exactly we’ll talk about later.

The idea is that when we are open and honest with others about ourselves, then there’s no need for the multiple layers of defenses separating each of us. There’s no need for pretense. We find true freedom in being ourselves without the barriers. All the insecurities and hurt are still there, but because they are shared we are able to understand each other better. We will get hurt since we are more vulnerable, but has hiding behind our defenses really made us hurt any less?

It is surely a struggle to live our personal lives without pretenses, and I am no exception. This blog is my way of helping myself do just that via discussion and expression. However, the blogosphere is also a place for the exchange of ideas on many levels. Probably the majority of my posts will be political or about society. In recent years political correctness has clouded the dialogue, filling it with the same type of pretentiousness that has enveloped much of our personal lives. Why put up with the facades? I hope anyone who reads my writing will find it intellectually stimulating, but without the bullshit and rhetoric of the mainstream media and political parties. I’ll tell you how I think it is, and if you get pissed off, that’s your problem.

With all that said, if you still don’t get the title of the blog, I have the definition of the words on the front page. I have the “motto” below the title in the header (“Brutally honest to a fault”). I’m sure you can figure it out…

Hope you enjoy! And I expect my readers to keep me in check and also to go along with the theme…

Now about why I am blogging here instead of previous places: In short, I wanted a more serious blogging tool to try and break into the blogging community in a more serious way than I could’ve elsewhere. The long version is this:

I have been blogging on and off for a couple of years now, giving a try at a somewhat serious blog without much direction on blogger, but not having the motivation to take it too seriously. Since the blog wasn’t attracting any of my friends to read it, there was little motivation to keep it up. At some point, I wanted to post some “friends only” posts to the blog and realized that there was not an easy way to do that – it was either all private or all public. Also, around the same time, in an attempt to find some pleasant distractions from things occupying my mind, I purchased a fancy camera to learn some photography, and facebook seemed inadequate for my photoalbum needs. That motivated me to finally break down and get a myspace page, which provided a method of posting pictures that I liked better, but also a way to blog where my friends can easily subscribe. I will probably continue to post “diary”-like posts to myspace, at least until I can figure out a way to separate public and private posts here in a way I like. So if you’re interested in reading about the more personal side of my life, you may want to subscribe to the myspace blog until further notice, though that doesn’t mean I won’t post personal things here. It just means that if it’s “too personal” (friends only) then it’ll be on myspace. This blog is, however, about being open, so most posts about my life will be here. Also, I’m working on finding a way to get an email list for subscriptions to this blog so that anyone interested can subscribe that way instead of RSS. In the meantime, send me an email with “subscribe” in the subject line if you want to be added to an email list that I’ll send out when I post something new.

I do want to say thanks to all of my friends who have been very supportive of me over the last several months, and have taken the time to throw ideas around on this site as well as my the projects. Also, to those who’ve been there for me in general for things – and yall know who you are and what I’m talking about. Thanks. Now let’s see if I can cause some trouble on the ‘net…

So I just got done importing all of the posts from my blogger blog and most of the posts from my myspace blog to this new site. I had a live journal blog, but it was a long time ago.

From here on out, after this post, all posts are new, whereas before this point, all posts are considered part of my archived past. I believe the quality of the posts should increase (I hope), but for clarity’ sake, it’s all there. I may go back and do some editing of the post categories as well as insert “more” breaks, but for now, I’m satisfied that it’s all here.

So now it’s time for a new beginning for my blogging experience.
